KCP&L Rate Increase

Kansas City Power & Light Company (KCP&L) has filed a rate increase request with the Kansas Corporation Commission to increase rates for electric service in Kansas. The 12.5% increase will be a fixed cost, and will raise the electric bill approximately $11.67 per month for the average resident. Residential customers who use electricity to heat their homes during the winter months may experience a higher increase. New rates would be effective on or around October 1, 2015.
