Public invited to help finalize Meadowbrook Park master plan on Oct. 20

Post Date:10/19/2015 9:44 AM

The Johnson County Park and Recreation District (JCPRD) will be holding the final public open house for the park master planning of the former Meadowbrook Country Club and Golf Course on Tuesday, Oct. 20. The future park site in Prairie Village, KS, is approximately 83.5 acres.

The meeting will be held from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Meadowbrook site located at 9101 Nall Ave. The public is invited to come and go at any time during the open house.

“We are very pleased with the extensive public input the planning process has generated so far,” said Cliff Middleton, JCPRD planning and development manager. “More than 350 interested stakeholders attended the last meeting, and many others have provided input online. The input we’ve received to date is playing a vital role in the development of the revised master plan draft that will be presented at the open house on October 20th.”

The project’s planning team, headed by Landworks Studio of Olathe, will be making modifications to the plan based on the additional input received at the open house. A revised draft of the plan will then be presented to the Prairie Village City Council and the Johnson County Board of Park and Recreation Commissioners in November, and the final master plan is scheduled to be presented for approval in December.
