Emerald Ash Borer Update
2015 Removals Have Started
Letters were sent out on October 20, 2015 to properties who are scheduled to have Ash Trees removed this year. As part of that letter, information on replant information was also included. The removals have already begun and replants will be scheduled for early Spring for most residents.
The maps for the heavily populated Ash Tree streets have been updated and are shown below.
The streets above have been identified to have a significant number of Ash trees and the treatment process is being used as a way to manage the removal of the Ash trees without having significant visual impacts due to removing all the trees in just a few years time. We anticipate treating these trees for about 10 years while the other Ash trees on those streets that will be removed this year can grow thus minimizing the visual impact of the Ash tree removals. Thorough consideration has been given to the impacts of removal and treatment to minimize the visual impacts on your street. Where trees are selected for removal the physical environment, including other trees, were considered before being selected for removal.
