All persons practicing massage therapy in Prairie Village must obtain a Massage Therapy license.

Below is information about the requirements of the City's Massage Therapy Business licensing program:
- License fee is $40
- Applicant must be at least 18 years old.
- Applicant must have completed a resident course of study not less than 70 hours in a recognized therapy school or one year continuous experience. A copy of this and your driver's license are required.
- Massage Therapy application must be on file with the City Clerk's office prior to practicing massage therapy in Prairie Village.
- If conducting business from a commercial-zoned property, an Administrative/Retail license must be applied for, approved and isued by the City prior to the operation of the massage therapy business. The applicant will pay the fee for the Admin/Retail license but not the massage therapy license.
- If conducting a home-based business, a Home Occupation license must be applied for, approved and issued by the City prior to the operation of the massage therapy business. The applicant will pay the fee for the Home Occupation license but not the massage therapy license.
- All licenses mut be renewed annually. The license year is from Oct 1 to September 30th of each year.
