Curbside
Recycling
What can I recycle?
Residents may recycle:
#1 and #2 plastic containers (must be emptied, rinsed, and
have caps removed.)
Newspaper, office paper, magazines, and junk mail
Aluminum/steel cans (food & beverage cans only; washed and
dried, whole or crushed)
Corrugated cardboard, chipboard, and carrier stock
How to prepare items for curbside recycling:
Place aluminum cans, steel cans, and plastic containers directly
into the recycling bin. Remember to rinse out cans and containers
before placing them in the bin.
Newspapers, magazines, telephone books, catalogs, junk mail,
and other "slick stock" papers may be placed directly into the recycling
bin or into paper grocery sacks. If you choose this method, please
separate newspapers from other types of paper. Papers or any other
recyclables placed in plastic bags WILL NOT be collected.
Chipboard (cereal boxes) cardboard, and carrier stock paper
should be flattened and placed directly into the recycling bin or
into paper grocery sacks. All plastic liner bags found in cereal
boxes and other chipboard type boxes should be removed and thrown
away in the regular trash.
Corrugated cartons should be flattened into pieces approximately
2' x 2' and placed under the recycling bin. If you have a large
amount of corrugated cardboard, please bundle it to keep it from
blowing away.
What cannot be recycled?
Wet newspapers
Glass
Plastic bags
Pizza boxes
How can I get a recycling bin?
One recycling bin is provided for each home. Additional recycling
bins may be purchased from the hauler or at local hardware stores.
If your bin is lost or stolen, replacement bins are available at
the Municipal Offices.
Should my recyclables be placed somewhere special?
Normal collection points for recyclables are within 10 feet of curbline.
All materials to be collected are to be placed in or near the appropriate
containers.
