This event will allow swimmers and their parents to meet the coaches, ask questions, and gather important information about the teams. Wednesday, May 19th, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm - Prairie Village Multi-Purpose Room Thursday, June 3rd, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm - Prairie Village Multi-Purpose Room Deadline for all aquatics registrations is Wednesday, May 21st. The Prairie Village Piranhas Swim TeamChildren 6 to 18 are invited to join the Piranhas swim team. Registration for Prairie Village residents begins on April 1st. Non-resident registration begins on May 1st. Placement Evaluation is on Friday, May 28th from 4:00 to 5:30 pm at the Prairie Village Pool Complex (please bring a swimsuit). Placement evaluations are for new team members only. Practice begins on June 7th. Practices will be divided into age groups. Practices are held Monday through Thursday as follows:

The Prairie Village Synchronized Swimming TeamThe Prairie Village Synchronized Swimming Team is open to residents and non-residents ages 7 to 18 who would like to learn to perform stunts and synchronized swim movements to music. Registration for the Synchronized Swim Team begins April 1st. Practices are from 10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday depending on skill level. There may be additional practices on Fridays and Saturdays in July if necessary. Practice begins on June 7th. Minimum swimming requirements will be assessed at the first practice. Tennis LessonsGroup Lessons Application - Adult and Youth Private & Semis Private Application Group Youth Lessons: Sessions run two weeks and will be held as follows:
Pee Wee Clinic (Up to age 6) - Introduction to the basic skills of tennis using a variety of games that incorporate fun and learning. Meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:30 am for 30 minutes. Cost is $41 per participant. There is a minimum enrollment of 4 and a maximum enrollment of 6. Sessions 1-3 are full. Mighty Mites Clinic (Ages 7 to 10) - Introduction to the strokes of tennis, including games for fun and fitness. Meets Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. There will be two different sections for Mighty Mites during Session 1 - one at 9:00 am and one at 11:00 am. Both sections are 50-minutes classes. Sessions 2 through 4 will have only the 9:00 am section. Cost is $54 per participant. There is a minimum enrollment of 4 and maximum enrollment of 10. Future Stars Clinic (Ages 11 to 15) - Learn how to play tennis and have fun learning the correct strokes. Meets Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 10:00 am for 50 minutes. Cost is $54 per participant. There is a minimum enrollment of 4 and maximum enrollment of 10. Adult Group Lessons (16 years and older)Sessions will be established for four or more players (maximum enrollment of 8). Each session includes six 50-minute lessons. The lessons are twice a week on Monday and Thursday at 6:00 pm for three weeks. The cost is $62. Sessions will be held as follows:
Private and Semi-Private Lessons (Adult or Youth)Private Lessons allow instructors the opportunity to work with players on individual needs. The fee is $23 per 1/2 hour lesson. Semi-Private Lessons for two persons are structured to meet individual needs. The fee is $15 per person per 1/2 hour. Three and a Pro is a program for youth and adults. You bring two friends and play with the pro. This is good practice for doubles play and stroke instruction is given. The cost is $17 per hour per player. Junior Tennis League (JTL)Prairie Village is a member of the Kansas City Junior Tennis League (KCJTL). In this program, youth ages 8 to 18 develop, improve, and refine tennis skills. 2010 KCJTL Schedule The League consists of weekly clinics, Challenge Days, weekly team matches, and an end-of-year tournament. The cost is $92 per participant ($86 for each additional family member on team). No refunds will be allowed for the Kansas City Junior Tennis League team. A KCJTL Kick-Off, including an initial clinic, will take place on Saturday, May 22nd from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interested players must register by May 14th to be eligible for the first week of league play. This year the coach will hold a tennis camp for registered players on May 29th from 1-4 pm. The camp cost is included in JTL registration. For the first hour participants will receive instruction through fun and challenging games. they will then be set up with a challenge match to help determine the first week's ladder. League play begins on June 1st. |
