Besides the City's Capital Improvement Program, Streets & Drains is
the Public Works Department's largest program.
Employees assigned to this program clean streets, fill potholes, replace
street signs, repair storm drainage channels, and remove snow and ice
from City streets during the winter.
Each year, Public Works employees sweep over 3,000 curb miles of streets,
clean out over 1,000 catch basins and storm sewers, fill nearly 1,500
pot holes, and perform many other tasks necessary to keep the City's infrastructure
in top-shape.
Learn what your rights are when public improvement work is done on your
street; Prairie Village Citizen's "Bill

If you observe a street, curb, or catch basin that needs attention, let
us know by filling out an Public Works Service
Request Form.

for maintaining the City's 11 public parks,
doing everything from mowing parks and traffic islands to planting flowers
to repairing fountains.
