Emerald Ash Borer Update
Letters and maps were sent out to residents on the following streets outlining the plan for treatment of selected Ash Trees:
63rd Terrace from Roe Avenue to Ash St
64th Street from Roe Avenue to 64th Terrace
64th Terrace from Roe Avenue to Nall Avenue
71st Street from Belinder Avenue to Cherokee Drive
Ash Street from 63rd Street to 64th Street
Hodges Drive from 63rd Street to 64th Terrace
Reinhardt Lane from 79th Street to Somerset Drive
The streets above have been identified to have a significant number of Ash trees and the treatment process is being used as a way to manage the removal of the Ash trees without having significant visual impacts due to removing all the trees in just a few years time. We anticipate treating these trees for about 10 years while the other Ash trees on those streets that will be removed this year can grow thus minimizing the visual impact of the Ash tree removals. Thorough consideration has been given to the impacts of removal and treatment to minimize the visual impacts on your street. Where trees are selected for removal the physical environment, including other trees, were considered before being selected for removal.
