The City of Prairie Village was incorporated on February 19, 1951 and is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a series of community events throughout 2026. Festivities include a 5k run/walk, a parade, a 1950s celebration at the pool, a movie night in Harmon Park, and a birthday party in Meadowbrook Park.
75 on 75th 5K - March 28
Celebrate Prairie Village's 75th anniversary with a 5k run/walk down 75th Street and through picturesque, tree-lined neighborhood streets. Grab your family and friends for an active and celebratory morning to benefit the Prairie Village Foundation. All registrations include a t-shirt and finisher's medal, with prizes awarded for the top runners in each age category.

Anniversary Parade - May 2
Grab your friends, family, or civic group and join us for a parade down Mission Road. The theme will be "Prairie Village Through the Decades." The parade will kick off on Saturday, May 2 at 10 a.m., followed by live music and festivities at Corinth Square.
To make the parade a great success we would like to invite you and your group, church, school, or other organization to join us in this celebration. Please help us spread the word far and wide – parent/teacher associations, school booster groups, homes associations, classic car clubs, scout troops, church congregations, dance companies, and more are welcome to participate. The parade is sure to be a grand event with your involvement.
Decorate a float, a pick-up, flat bed or other vehicle. Show off your classic car, get the band together, or walk with your neighbors. We are looking forward to seeing the creative entries from our community.
