The City of Prairie Village was incorporated on February 19, 1951 and is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a series of community events throughout 2026.
Festivities include a 5k run/walk, a parade, a 1950s celebration at the pool, a movie night in Harmon Park, and a birthday party in Meadowbrook Park.
As part of the anniversary celebration, the City has commissioned a local historian and author to write a Prairie Village history book. If you have photos or stories that should be considered for inclusion in the history book, you can submit them online.
