Emergencies

911 should be reserved for emergency situations, such as when a crime is in progress or when you or someone else is in danger.

If you need an ambulance or the Fire Department for an emergency, call 911.

Non-emergencies

Non-Emergency: (913) 642-5151

Administrative Offices: (913) 642-6868

For ambulance and Fire non-emergency matters, call (913) 432-1717

Dialing 911 by Mistake

We understand mistakes happen. If you accidentally call 911, DO NOT hang up. Stay on the line and explain the situation to the Dispatcher. If you do hang up, a Dispatcher will call you back and, in many instances, an officer will have to respond to ensure everything is okay.

Text to 911

The preferred way to call 911 is always by voice . . . “Call if You Can, Text if You Can’t.”

Text to 911 is another tool to assist the public in reaching emergency services.  For more information, please download MARC's brochure entitled, "Kansas City Regional 9-1-1 System: Important Tips for Sending Texts to 9-1-1."

According to the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC), smaller providers already piggyback on the four major carriers, but there is no guarantee smaller cell phone providers are making services available.
