The Mayor’s Holiday Tree Lighting is held annually on the Thursday following Thanksgiving. Festivities will kick off at 6 p.m. and include local school choirs, dance troops, and other festive entertainment, including a visit from Santa.
The tree lighting event is the major fundraiser for the Prairie Village Foundation, a non-profit, charitable 501(c)(3) organization. Since 1983 the Foundation has been assisting residents in need and supporting essential organizations throughout our community. The Foundation helps residents in many ways, including utility and rental assistance, food programs, personal well-being, and other vital needs. We proudly support Prairie Village parks, local arts, youth recreational scholarships, and local events like Shop with a PV Cop and Back to School with a Firefighter.
