Apply for an amplified sound permit. All cats and dogs, six months of age and older, must be licensed with the City. The licensing process ensures that animals have current rabies vaccinations which must be current in order to obtain an animal license. Each household is permitted to have a maximum of four pets with no more than three of one species (dog or cat). Licenses must be renewed every one, two or three years depending on the license purchased. Rabies vaccinations must be valid for the duration of the license being purchased. If an animal cannot tolerate the rabies vaccination, a letter stating the intolerance must be provided by the vet.

Alternative options available when the pool is closed for a swim or dive meet
Prairie Village partners with the cities of Fairway and Mission and Roeland Park to allow membership holders all-day access to their pools on days the Prairie Village Pool is closed for meets. This service is included in the price of both resident and non-resident pool membership.

Seasonal memberships will be half price starting Monday July 13th, 2026.
All Prairie Village residents and business owners with an administrative/retail license in Prairie Village may purchase memberships at resident rates. Proof of residency, a valid driver's license, or a current City business license with a Prairie Village address is required. A Non-resident is defined as anyone not residing or owning a business in Prairie Village.
Individual memberships are available for both residents and non-residents. Children under three years of age do not require an ID card and will be admitted to the pool for free.
Pool memberships are Non-Refundable. Daily Admission fees and 5-Swim cards will not be refunded or applied to a membership purchase. 5 and 10 Swim cards are only valid for the season in which they are purchased.
Recreation Program Fee Assistance
Scholarships are available to qualified Prairie Village residents for pool memberships and team fees, Scholarships are available to adults and all children living in the household. All scholarships applicants will be required to provide the City with their previous year's federal tax return as part of the application. ID Cards
All NEW Pool Members are required to obtain a photo ID card from the City Clerk's office at City Hall or photos can also be emailed to recreation@pvkansas.com. We will call/email you when your ID cards are ready for pickup. Existing members can use their previous card if their photo is still recognizable or obtain a new one. ID cards must be presented upon entering the pool complex only by the person to whom the ID card is issued. Any violations or "pass backs" of ID cards may result in forfeiture of your membership privileges for the remainder of the season.
SuperPass Upgrade Fees
Are you interested in visiting additional pools this summer? With the SuperPass, your annual Prairie Village pool membership will allow you unlimited access to the following partnering pools: Fairway, Mission and Roeland Park.
To be eligible for a SuperPass upgrade, you must first purchase a Prairie Village Pool membership for each interested family member. The SuperPass rates are in addition to individual membership rates listed above.
Non-residents must be in the 2nd consecutive year of a Prairie Village Pool Membership to be eligible for a Super Pass Membership through Prairie Village. If you live in one of the other SuperPass cities
(Mission, Fairway or Roeland Park), you are not eligible to purchase a SuperPass Membership through Prairie Village and must purchase through your respective city.
The SuperPass may only be purchased in person at City Hall. Please bring your pool ID card with you to City Hall. A SuperPass sticker will be put on your card when you purchase the upgrade.

The Pool Rules and Regulations are part of the City's continuing effort to provide a safe recreational environment.
Please review these rules before visiting the Prairie Village Pool. Violations of pool rules may result in loss of pool privileges. We recommend you download a copy of the pool rules to review with all members of your family. If you have any questions about any of these rules, please contact the Pool Manager on duty. A complete list of pool rules and regulations will be provided to persons purchasing pool memberships and swim cards. Rules will also be posted at the pool.
General Rules
- The following rules apply to all areas of the Prairie Village Pool:
- In case of an emergency, dial 911
- Pollution of aquatic venue is prohibited
- Do not swim if you have open wounds
- Do not swim if you are ill with diarrhea or have had diarrhea within the past 2 weeks
- Shower before entering the water
- No glass items in the aquatic venue or on the deck
- Do not swallow or spit water
- Diaper changing on the deck is prohibited
- Diving is not allowed in all aquatic venues except for the diving well
- Intentional hyperventilation or extended breath holding activities are dangerous and prohibited
- No animals in the aquatic venue and no animals on the deck, except service animals, if applicable
- No rough play
- Membership ID and swim cards must be presented by pool patrons each time they enter the pool complex
- Each patron over the age of 3 years must have a pool membership ID card, a swim card, or pay a daily entrance fee for admission to the Prairie Village Pool
- Children must be supervised by a responsible party
- Children under the age of 9 must be accompanied by and within arm's reach of an adult or responsible party over the age of 14 who can swim.
- Patrons over the age of 9 are permitted without supervision but are subject to removal by the pool manager if they create a health or safety risk
- Appropriate swim attire required:
- All swimmers are required to wear a swimsuit
- No bras, sports bras, or shorts that do not stay around the waist
- String and thong swimsuits are prohibited
- Swimwear that becomes see through when wet is not allowed and considered indecent
- Swimmers wanting to use a t-shirt in the pool must wear a clean t-shirt and proper swimwear underneath
- No street clothes will be allowed in the pool, such as things with zippers, buckles or rivets
- Swim diapers are required for children who are not bathroom trained and a swimsuit must be worn over swim diapers
- Guests with improper or indecent swimwear will be asked to change or leave the facility
- Be courteous to staff and fellow visitors. Obey all staff instructions.
- No unnecessary talking to lifeguards while in the guard stand, or congregating under the lifeguard stands
- Do not enter staff designated areas
- Any patron in water deeper than the patron’s armpits may be required to demonstrate to the lifeguard or Pool Manager that he or she is capable of swimming the width of the pool in that depth. If the patron is unable to do so, they must remain in the water that is below their armpits.
- Food must be eaten in the concession stand
- The following items or activities are prohibited at the Prairie Village Pool:
- No alcohol
- No smoking, including e-cigarettes
- No abusive, offensive, or profane language
- Offensive or inappropriate tattoos must be covered
- No toys or play items that aren’t approved by management including: noodles, large beach balls, etc
- No flotation devices unless they are Coast Guard Approved, except in the adult pool only
- No dunking
- No coolers, outside food or drink, except refillable bottles with water
- Personal mobile devices must be used with headphones
- No cell phones or GoPros allowed in the pool
- No running
- No skateboard riding is allowed in the complex
- Any other item or activity that creates a hazard to patrons or to the maintenance and operation of the Prairie Village Pool
- Small squeezable balls, diving sticks, rings and torpedoes will be permitted in the Leisure Pool at the discretion of the Pool Manager. Management shall have the authority to restrict usage of permitted toys during crowded conditions or if they become a nuisance.
- Persons wishing to take pictures inside the pool area must obtain permission from the Pool Manager
- The City of Prairie Village assumes no liability for the loss or theft of a patron’s personal belongings. Lockers are provided to secure personal belongings. Patrons may bring locks for use on lockers. All locks must be removed from the locker at the end of the day, or they will be removed. Items left in lockers at the end of the day will be placed in the pool’s lost and found.
- The pool manager may close the entire pool complex, or any portions of the pool complex, for any safety or maintenance reason.
- The pool manager has the authority to enforce these rules and may remove from the Prairie Village Pool area any patron who violates these rules
- Adult Pool
- The Adult Pool is reserved for patrons 18 years of age and older
- Kickboards, rafts and noodles are permitted in the Adult Pool
- Diving Well
- Divers using the 3 meter high dive or slide must be at least 48 inches tall
- One person on the board or slide at a time
- Must wait for the person ahead of them to reach the pool ladder prior to diving off the board or going down slide
- Must exit at specified ladder for each diving board and slide
- Divers may not do inward dives or sitting entries. No hanging on the board.
- No spinning or jumping to the side off of the diving board
- Divers may only make one approach and one bounce per dive
- Must go down the slide feet first sitting or lying on their back
- No goggles, glasses or lifejackets may be worn
- Lap Pool
- Must be swimming laps or water walking to use this pool. Lanes 1 and 2 are water walking only
- Swim counter clockwise
- Be accommodating and share lanes
- No hanging on or going over the lane lines
- No using the starting blocks
- Kickboards are permitted
- Leisure Pool
- No hanging on or going over the lane line
- Must jump straight in
- Beach chairs cannot be placed further than the second line
- Wading Pool
- May be used for patrons 6 years of age and under. A responsible party, who is always within arm’s reach of the child, must supervise such patrons.
- Must jump straight in
- Beach chairs cannot be placed further than the second line
- Water Slides
- Swimmers must be 48 inches to use the waterslides
- One person will be allowed on the slide at a time
- Swimmers must go down the slide only when instructed by the lifeguard in charge. Swimmers must wait until the previous swimmer has reached the exit of the plunge pool before going down the slide.
- Swimmers must go down the slide feet first sitting or on their backs only. No rotating or spinning.
- A tube is required for the tube slide and swimmers must remain seated in tube
- Swimmers must immediately exit the plunge pool via the steps once they have exited the water slide
- No goggles, glasses or life jackets allowed
- Put tubes in designated area after use
